Young Black Eagle Admitted to Rehab Centre in George
A young Black Eagle (Aquila verreauxii) was admitted to the Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre in George. This eagle was rescued when it was seen on the road in Loxton in the Western Cape. The rehabilitation process to get this eagle to fly and hunt successfully and sufficiently on its own will be a long process but the aim of Garden Route Birds of Prey is to do it as quickly and effectively as is possible. The hood you see in the picture is to keep him calm so that they can work with him.
Visit the Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre in George to see this amazing bird and others. Your entrance fee and all donations from the public make their work possible.
